This plant was photographed at Planting Fields Arboretum on Long Island. The flowers are very large among the larger of the Kohleria hybrids. It resembles 'Red Ryder' except that it is more compact and has red hairs on the stems, peduncles and young buds.

 The background was determined. "This plant was found by Susanne Hvegholm in a market in Latvia. The little old woman who sold it said it was from Russia. Hence the name we started using here in Sweden, which means "Russian Lady".
